Description

The Anova Precision® Oven is the first combi oven with pro-level features designed specifically for the home cook. Paired with the Anova Oven app, you’ll enjoy a fully connected cooking experience and the most advanced features of the Oven. Break out of your everyday cooking routine with inspiration from the step-by-step recipes developed specifically for the Anova Precision Oven. With the connected app, you can start cooking with a single button press and the Wi-Fi enabled Oven will preheat to your recipe’s recommended settings. As your food cooks, you’ll be able to keep an eye on your timers and food probe readings remotely, and notifications will alert you when it’s time for the next hands-on step. If you want to cook freestyle, you can create your own multi-stage cooking programs in the app. Define the oven settings for each stage of cooking and the transitions between stages to build stress-free, no-compromise recipes for all of your favorite foods. Your cook history is stored automatically so you can replay your past cooks, or share your recipes with the community. Features: - Explore our library of recipes created specifically for the Anova Precision Oven. These recipes span meals, cuisine types, and cooking techniques to educate and inspire you to create your own new dishes. - Learn step-by step techniques by following along with clear photos and easy-to-read instructions from top recipe creators. - Start cooking any recipe with a single tap. The cook settings are sent to your oven directly. - Monitor your cook by watching real time temperature and timer readings. View the oven’s temperature and steam settings, and even monitor the core temperature of your food when using the included food probe. - Go freestyle with manual cooking. You can start cooking from the app, or from the oven itself, without relying on specific recipes. - Make adjustments on the fly. If dinner is ready but you’re not, add a holding stage to your cook so your food remains at its best. - Create multi-stage recipes. Most foods have more that one cooking goal, like achieving juicy meat and crispy skin. Separate your cooking into multiple oven stages to optimize for each goal, like the pros do. With full control over oven functions and the ability to transition automatically based on timer or probe targets, true multi-stage, combi cooking is finally available for home cooks. - View your cook history. It’s like having a DVR for your Oven — recipes and manual cooking sessions are automatically saved to your history, making it easy to revisit your favorites.

  • Cannot Disconnect Oven

The app does not allow me to disconnect my Anova Oven in order to reconnect it again. This makes this app completely useless, and now I just have a dumb oven. I’m not the only one experiencing this problem. If you look at the previous reviews, you’ll see that many users have the same problem and they haven’t updated the app for over 10 months.

As a person that who is blind, such as myself, that the app still needs work in terms of being in sync with the display and touchscreen are saying. Furthermore, if I want to cook my own recipe for the first time, that there should be instructions on how to set it up! For example, I understand that there are recipes for how to sous vide hamburger patties, that which you can do in the oven itself, but that what if you also want to sear them in the oven? The two times I have cooked chicken in it, the chicken came out nice and juicy! And salmon, too easy! I don’t even need to see that! I can just steam it and that then within 20 minutes, on a better rice, so good!on the display/touchscreen on the oven, it may show a display or a picture of a cloud, that which just means that the water tank is full, but on the app, it will say that the water tank is empty and to please fill it up to the filling line. Once again that the app needs to say the same thing, that the display/touchscreen says on the oven!

Clean interface. Easy to use. No connection setup struggle. Menus are a little clunky and basic. Recipes seem good - expect human intervention and guidance for best results. Kinda wish it had oven temp / food probe temp vs. time plots like the Meater temperature probes do… all that data wasted. Nice programmability- you can do at home dna PCR with one of these!

I have enjoyed my Anova oven for quite a few years now. It’s always my go to appliance except when it’s not big enough. I wouldn’t trade for anything except a larger Anova oven.

Anova has announced plans to start charging new users for their app. They have also removed Bluetooth access to some of their products to force app usage. It is no longer a product, company, or app thst I would recommend to anyone.

How is there no iPad app? Would be nice to be able to have my iPad setup so I can read recipes without having to unlock my phone every time I want to check the next step.
  • Always disconnects, hard to use, limited to one

After having used a wolf steam oven, we bought two of these. While the ovens themselves are good, the app is awful. Most importantly, it regularly loses its connection to the oven. This sometimes requires a hard reset - reaching behind the oven to unplug it. Secondly, it needs some basic "recipes" - ways to do simple things, like "steam broccoli". Everything is a complex recipe (like "spicy steam roasted broccoli"). Lastly, you can only connect to one oven. So my wife and I each need to control one. Very inconvenient. Simple fixes would make this a fantastic app and product.

We installed the Anova steam oven in our summer place where the microwave used to sit. Microwave sits beneath, costing me counter spec in a very small galley kitchen. Totally worth it. Easy installation, no product defects. Learning curve? yes but what would u expect ? But many recipes are programmed so no problem. Lots of great videos and recipes that work beautifully. We love it. Btw: the grilled cheese recipe is omg good.
  • Features missing from the app

Child Lock, a needed feature. Easy reconnect to the oven, it takes many attempts if something is wrong with the wi fi network, and error messages don’t tell what is wrong. On the hardware side, spare part availability.
