AARP SafeTrip™

I have been using this app to track safe driving and I am loving it. It gives me points based on safe drives and reminds me to not use my phone, break gently, and not to speed

I looked forward to using the AARP driving app but its evaluations always seemed suspect. No matter how much I attempted to change my habits—especially with cornering and acceleration—it continued to ding me. I finally got disgusted and deleted the app.

Speed limits in this app are not current they have almost all the roads I travel at 25 MPH all of them that I have been dinged for speeding are 45. I have tried customer service and they are no help if they can’t ‘verify’ so if the map databases haven’t been on a road since they built the road or had the limit at a different level it’s sorry and all they say is to lie and tell the app that I’m not the driver. This isn’t designed very well so I’m going to ignore it from now on

After I downloaded the application and log in I get an error about my browser had add blocker on it or it was set to not support cookies. I have both of there enabled to protect myself and my phone. Need to redesign your application, I don’t have issues with any other application complaining about them being enabled.

I have been using this app for over a year and have definitely improved my driving- the scores can prove it. I really like using my rewards points I earn to bid in high value gift cards. Great way to play along and improve my driving.

After using the app it encouraged me to be mindful of driving habits that I need to work on. Awareness is key. It really does work!

There is zero reasons to have the location set to Always!

After two weeks of perfect scores I narrowly avoided a major accident by a brilliant swerving and breaking maneuver. I was so relieved and, at my age, a bit proud. Until I got home and saw this app hammered me for breaking too heavily and cornering badly. Are you kidding? No good deed goes unpunished with this app. That earned a DELETE.

I like the option of tracking my driving, but the app wants to have location on always. This means that when my husband is driving I get hit for his bad habits. It also means I get hit for using my phone. There needs to be an option in the app to not track when a passenger.

I also have State Farm’s DriveSafe & Save, and the trip ratings are pretty close today other. I’m scoring 97 on AARP’s App! Try it…you’ll like it!
